Reviews

Not sure why reviewing this course is even an option, since experiences will absolutely differ from one supervisor to another, and from one project to another. Personally though, I had a good project with a good supervisor, so it was pretty smooth sailing. You do need a lot of initiative because the project is typically directed by either mostly you, or a collaboration between you and your supervisor. Not a good pick unless you're willing to take initiative for your project. Because this course is an independent study paper, the only material you're getting are ones you find on your own, or from your supervisor. There is also the report that's worth 100% of your mark, so you have to make it count or risk getting a bad grade (or outright fail if you fail to submit it). Shouldn't be too bad if you're willing to ask for advice from your supervisor, would even argue that the report is the chillest part out of the entire CS380 course.
